Thank you for reading my posts. My hope is that they bring something positive your way. I’m sending this second message today because I think we all need to bring something positive to the situation at hand…
None of us have escaped the ravages of the Corona Virus. Though we may not be sick ourselves, we have felt the pain of those who are. While scientists, medical personnel, government officials and caretakers of every sort do their best to respond in their respective arenas, I think you and I are challenged to do the same.
I’m quite certain that I won’t develop a vaccine or discover the cure for this persistent virus. I have no choice but to leave that to experts who are far more gifted than I. I can, however, support those around me as only I can. Will you join me?
Perhaps we can all…
…Do our best to stay well. Hand-washing and social distancing go a very long way in this regard.
…Stay home if we’re not feeling 100%. Making others ill won’t help.
…Be a wise and nurturing presence. Offer encouragement when fear overwhelms others.
…Smile whenever possible. A positive attitude also goes a long way.
…Avoid spreading uncertainty. Check your facts before sharing “the latest on the virus”.
…Pray. Talking to God in the midst of a crisis is always helpful. This puts everything into perspective in the grand scheme of things. God has walked through all of human history with us. The Corona Virus hasn’t scared God away. Nothing will!
Please forgive me as I don’t mean to preach. However, I went to the grocery store earlier today and I witnessed the fear of a few of my fellow humans in action. I also witnessed much-appreciated relief when I took the time to offer a bit of encouragement to those I met along the way. We can all do the same for our families, our neighbors, our coworkers and everyone else who shares the path with us.
In the mean time, as Tiny Tim said, “God bless us every one!” And so God will…
